Wendy Dale

Wendy had a career in the Probation Service for over thirty years and has worked in the North East since 1982. Her time in the North East began as a probation officer in the West End of Newcastle. She was a senior manager for the last fifteen years during which time she held a wide range of area responsibilities including public relations, policy and information, quality assurance, community safety, staff development, training and human resources.

For five years she was responsible for probation services in Newcastle and was therefore involved in partnership working and sat or chaired committees to improve and develop services. Latterly she was seconded to Government North East to support the work across the region to reduce crime levels. She returned to the Northumbria Probation Service as Head of Public Protection and Counter terrorism, a post she held for a year before taking voluntary redundancy in March 2010.

After leaving the Probation Service she was appointed as a part time volunteer coordinator by Barnardo’s to set up a new project called Circles. She chose to finish in June 2013 after having established the Circles project and secured longer term funding.

Wendy was born and educated in Sutton Coldfield, then in Warwickshire; she currently resides in Hexham Northumberland.
