Most of Search will be closed over the Christmas week and will return on Wednesday 2 January. However our Chain Reaction project will be running a Christmas drop in on Monday 24 December, Thursday 27 December, Friday 28 December and Monday 31 December from 10.00 am to 12.30 midday. The drop in will bne at the main search office on 74 adelaide Terrace in Benwell. All older people who live in the west of Newcastle are warmly invited to pop in and share the festive company.


Search brings the ancient art of Tai Chi to the west of Newcastle. Great for balance, body and mind, it's a form of gentle exercise that has become very popular with olde people across the world.

No need to book, just turn up. Over 50's only.

Learn more about dementia and how you can help create a dementia friendly community. The session is fun, interactive and provides attendees with some useful resources and tips on how we can support those living with dementia to feel a part of our communities.  It will be a short introductio and lasts just one hour.

It’s about learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help.  Be it a neighbour friend, family member, customer, most of us knowingly or unknowingly will have some connection This Information Session is led by Simon Luddington, the Chain Reaction Development Manager at Search and a Dementia Friends Champion.

Combine the pleasures of a fascinating guided walk through Newcastle’s past with making a small contribution to Search. Enjoy the 2 mile walk through the centre of Newcastle and end up at the Tyneside Cinema for mulled wine, mince pies and special newsreels. Santa hats are optional!
